Selection by the department means you will be retained as a conditional temporary civilian employee of the department, which entitles you to enrollment in the training academy. Successful completion of the training academy is required in order to become a probationary police officer. Failure to successfully complete the training academy, for any reason whatsoever will result in immediate termination and the removal of your name from further consideration for employment as a police officer. Upon successful completion of the training academy, your status as a conditional employee will be concluded and you will be hired as a probationary police officer.
